One of the five habits of confident returnees is: Value Your Worth. Often this is easier said than done.
Through my coaching I've seen many whose confidence is clouded by the moment: "I haven't been in the paid workforce for over 10 years." Or, "I'm applying to all sorts of jobs and not hearing back."
But as I speak with these clients, we revisit their career steps and turns, list and highlight skills and accomplishments, often going back and starting from the college years and working our way forward. It's a process that's a delight to be a part of, both joyful and interesting to learn about people's paths, to uncover forgotten skillsets and wins, and as renewed confidence comes into view.
Keeping confidence high requires constant tending to, much like a garden or friendships. It's easy to let confidence slip if we aren't working or tending to the muscles that built it in the first place.
Take the time to build and keep yours healthy. Value your worth. It will sharpen your focus and make for a smoother job search.
