In our webinar today on how to craft a winning elevator pitch, we prepared one woman for a recruiting event she was heading directly after our session. She got to practice out loud with us!
We also heard from others in job-search mode, some with large career gaps, and were able to help hone their pitch for different audiences. Our time together was interactive, collaborative, and helpful! We’re so excited to watch where these women go with these revised pitches. Ladies, to be sure, It Is Your Turn!
As part of the conversation, we talked a bit about resumes, and how to align them with job descriptions. Après career coach Tina Mondragon said it best with a line we should all tuck away:
“The job description is the cheat sheet for the resume.”
Translation: The job description has all the answers and hints about what the employer is looking for, and your resume (the test) needs to communicate that you can meet those needs.
Study up students! Read those job descriptions like they are a cheat sheet for the role. Edit and fine tune your resume to pass the test.
IT IS YOUR TURN! 👏
xo, Stacey
