What do I say? Is now the right time to reach out to the person who offered to help me months ago? What is the best approach? Am I ready?
These questions come up regularly in our coaching sessions, so if you’re in job-search mode, you’re likely wrestling with them, too.
Often the underlying cause of the uncertainty or discomfort stems from not having your “elevator pitch” in place — that quippy sentence or two that one might share in a short elevator ride if asked, “tell me about yourself.”
Once in place, a solid elevator pitch will root you what you’re aiming for, offer clarity in your focus and efforts, and make outreach to your network more comfortable and purposeful.
This is why our first 👏 🎉 Your Turn Career Coffee session (virtual) next week (May 7 at 9 a.m. PST), will focus on the art of the elevator pitch — three steps to build yours and address the dreaded “tell me about yourself.” This session is for paid subscribers — you can become one today and join us Tuesday! Details of the Zoom are below the paywall in this email and will also come via email.
IT IS YOUR TURN! 👏
xo, Stacey
